The Kiwanis Club
of San Marcos is excited to welcome you to the HOLIDAY HOUNDS component of the
San Marcos Holiday Parade! This first time feature is sure to become a holiday tradition for San Marcos
dogs and their families. So don your dog's holiday best (optional for humans) and join us in the San Marcos Holiday
Parade!
The first 50 dogs registered will receive our "doggie bag" filled with free
samples, coupons, and discounts provided by our Holiday Hounds sponsors. Please visit our sponsors website and
locations to thank them!
 TO PARTICIPATE:
| Dogs must be current on all vaccines, wear ID tags, and be on a lease
at all times. Retractable leases are not permitted.

| Puppies under 12 weeks, dogs in heat or aggressive dogs are not allowed.
|
| Owners are responsible for bringing your dog’s water (Shared-use
water dishes will be available in the assembly area.)
|
| Please bring your own bags and clean up after your dog. |
| Dogs and their families must be able to complete the 2-½ mile
parade route and arrange for their own transportation from the parade end point back to the assembly area to retrieve their
vehicle. (Printable map below.)

| Registered dogs and their owner(s) must be checked in and lined up
for the parade in the staging area by noon to participate. |
 PARADE DETAILS:
| The parade route steps off at Comet Drive and Mission Road and runs
east on Mission Road to the San Marcos Civic Center. (Printable map below.) |
| HOLIDAY HOUNDS entrants will have a separate check-in table in the assembly area. Please check in no
later than noon because we start leaving the assembly area at 12:30 to reach the step-off point. |
| Dogs will be grouped according to size. Families
with more than one dog will be grouped according to the largest dog. |
| Strollers, wagons, bikes, etc. are welcome. Please
indicate on the registration form if your entry will include these items so we can allot appropriate space in the assembly
area. |
| The $5 per dog registration fee includes any humans accompanying the dog(s).
ON-LINE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 5. On-site registrations will be
accepted UP TO 10:30 am.
The Kiwanis Club of San Marcos
Foundation is a 501(c) non-profit public charity. Donations are tax deductible as permitted by law.
