To help us determine the lineup, please answer the SPECIAL CONSIDERATION questions below.

Will your entry incorporate music or singing and need to be spaced away from other entries to be heard clearly?

Will your entry include vehicles that are somewhat noisy (engines, mufflers, sound effects, etc,) and should be spaced away from music/singing/ noise-shy children and animals?

Will your entry include diesel vehicles (exhaust fumes issues for walking groups/animals nearby?
Will your entry include animals that are sensitive to loud noise or small children?

Does your entry include "oversized" vehicles (bus, motor home, etc.)?  IF YES, please give total length in comment section below.

SCRIPT FOR YOUR ENTRY

We will have 3 announcer's stands along the parade route.  Please provide a script of 50 WORDS OR LESS that will be read by the announcers.  (Kiwanis reserves the right to edit the script, making changes if necessary.)

I understand that the Sprinter train will be running regular routes parallel to the parade route and will caution my participants to take extra caution and follow the directions of the parade representatives and Sheriff Department Deputies when near the tracks.

We will have a representative attend the mandatory Pre-Parade Meeting on Tuesday, December 1st at 7:00 pm in the dining room of the City of San Marcos Community Services building at 3 Civic Center Drive.

I have read the parade RULES and understand and agree to the regulations of the Kiwanis Club of San Marcos Holiday Parade.  I will print, distribute and turn in signed Participant Release forms for every adult and child participating in our entry and understand participation will be denied without this signed form.

 
                      STRICTLY VOLUNTARY BUT WE HOPE YOU'LL HELP

The Kiwanis Club of San Marcos Holiday Parade is unique in that we see the parade as an opportunity to help our community as well as spread holiday spirit.  In that light, we are asking for donations of toys and non-perishable food items to be given to local non-profits that help families in need.  Donations can be brought to the assembly area the moring of the parade.  We will have collection boxes at the check-in table.  THANKS!

Each organization/group ENTRY is asked to donate one stuffed toy to be given to a child who needs hugs and has hugs to give.
Each PARTICIPANT is asked to donate 1 canned or boxed non-perisable food item to help stock local food banks that assist families in need all year round.
